100c Steamboat, NZX

Steamboat...
Last time... old school days...
We used to have steamboat with the charcoal as base for fire...
The fragrance and aroma...
It's voila!
Nice.

When it comes to modern...
There's more usage of the induction plate...
Well.. just a switch, your soup boiling...
Not much sweat of work compare to the old way.

Of course, less of work...
Less yummy the meal will be, I guess?

I went with my Foodie Partner to NZX...
Was supposed to go for Korean food..
Ending up at 100c NZX...
Well... service was not bad...
Food varieties.. as average as what we've having outside...

However, it's worth for a try out...
Whether you want to got for a 2nd round next time, it's depend on the individual taste...
Spend on the bill about RM65...
Love my drink, following my horoscope CANCER...
Consists of Lychee, Jasmine and Honey...
Good mixture...
My FOODIE Partner a scorpio...
Well.. the mixture.. ROse and Wheat Black Tea...
Doesn't sound good... so she end up with a Jasmine Tea ICe.

Here some snap shot I manage to take:

The Menu and the cutleries...

Marbled Goby a.k.a Soon Hock

"The Marble Goby is a large, solitary, slow-moving fish which rests undisturbed on the bottom of quiet streams, canals and lakes. It rarely moves, even when disturbed. It preys on other fish, which are oblivious to its presence.

It is best identified in the field by the large head, the symmetrical patterning on the dorsal surface and by the rounded, outstretched pectoral fins.

A full grown, 50 cm specimen in a quiet backwater of one of Singapore's inland reservoirs.

The Marbled Goby occurs in many parts of Southeast Asia including Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Know to millions of Southeast Asians as 'Soon Hock'."

A close partner of mine rare this type of fish for over the past few years...
And its passed away today, on Christmas.

Well, some people will think like, "It's just a FISH! What so sad about?!"
However, when a close buddy not around anymore...
It's a bond between a human and an animal...
It's a friendship been made.

Just like a human with a dog...
They are buddies.

Why not with a fish?

It's been years of companionship...
Your buddy know you luv him and really took good care of him as much as you could...
You've done your best...
Least you know, his suffer ends.

It's time.

He will always be around in your heart.

LamMeeYa, 1Utama New Wing

X'mas Day!
Had a date with my darling to have brunch before I start work...
Can't decide where to grab our meals..
So I suggested to have it in Kluang Station...
Well... it's packed!

Coincidently saw a new outlet opposite the Station...
It's Lam Mee...
No harm to try it as the interior quite attractive.

The choices of the food not much...
But the menu kind of attractive as the pictures are BIG!
They even have set meals which include the noodle, the starter and a drink.
Mine cost RM15+ with an Original Lam Mee, Meatballs and a Green Tea...
My darling's meal cost RM16+ for Mushroom Lam Mee, Gao Ji and a Green Tea.

Lucky enough...
The meal was not that bad, as the service, well, not really friendly and fast...
It's noodle shop and yet not that busy still we got to wait for our meal about 15minutes.
However, can go try again for the other choices.

Here the snapshot I got...

HongKong GOGO Dessert, Kepong

After our heavy lunch...
On the way back to Kepong..
Suddenly I felt of having red bean soup (hung tao sah)...
I not often want to have anything with beans though...
So my dad said that's a place near the Neighbourhood Restaurant.

The Dessert Cafe, GoGo Dessert.

We browsed thru the menu...
And got what we wanted...
But came out... Oh well... Modernized dessert I guess.

I had Sweet Potato with Ginger Soup...
I was expecting the potato being served cubicles...
My dad ordered black glutinious rice with coconut milk..
Oh well, that doesn't look like one...
It look like the Chicken Rice Ball.. and yet served cold...
He don't really like that.

My partner had beancurb with almond...
As side, we ordered the red bean soup...
Only that, it's acceptable!
And a durian pancake, very greenie!

The bill?
RM30.60.

Worth it?
Not really though.

Least, did spend sometime with my old man ^_^

Sweet Potato with Ginger Soup (HUGE!)

Not much to talk about though.

Last Tueday, my dad suggested to go over to Puchong for lunch...
Well, I don't really go over that area except passing that place while on the way to Malacca or Seremban...
He said that the restaurant is nyonya cuisine...
Oh well, no harm trying.

So we went there together with my partner as well...
Penangites and Malaccan, suits the feel.
When we at the doorstep...
The door it's bit like "cowboy" era...
Flipping doors.

Come into the dining area...
My my.. antiques!
Since I'm so into old thingies...
This place suits me.

My dad ordered a set for 2 and 2 side dishes as well...
In their menu, believe it or not...
You may learn your basic Hokkien here...
Most of the items are in hokkien spelling...
Funny, but cute.

Here's our lunch... for RM56.10, this are what you'll get...

Stewed Pork Belly

Sambal Hae (Prawn)

Kiam Chai Buey (ala-carte)

Otak-Otak (ala-carte)

BoatHouse, TTDI

Ahoy sailors!

Last Monday I went to have dinner with my partner at Boathouse, TTDI...
Well, it was a day before plan as a friend of mine Wan Wan, talked about the restaurant when we on MSN...
She let me have a look at the place thru her blog...
Well, it's seem to be a nice place for a candle light dinner...
So, I gave it a try.

Was rounding the area as I only passed by the place before the MAYBANK... and did not know it was located at the same lane as the bank...
Next to it was a pub, not sure what's the name...
We went to the restaurant just before 7.30pm...
We did not make any reservation, as I don't see that need...
Oh well...
Lucky us...
After we got our seat...
The place was full house after 7.30pm!

We browse thru the menu...
And can't believe that it's so much varieties to choose from!
I told my partner that I'm just reading a book!
From the menu there's total of 133 items, included dessert excluded drinks.
Western to Asian delights.

Price?
Well, our meal cost RM340!
Worth it?
Yes.

The most pricey meal was the Chef Recommendation...
Steak with Foir Gras Sauce... RM120.90!
Lucky enough, it's worth for the money...
My partner really enjoyed and digged in the steak deliciously...
I had the Poseidon Platter... RM45.80
Consists of lamb fillet, 2 prawns, some caesar salad with bacon bits, sauteed mushroom, a scallop and a fish fillet.

Dessert, well....
It's not really as what I expected...
Cheese Platter... RM25.90
It's nearlly spoilted our whole meal...
The cheese it's pretty salty...
I thought it will be better with a glass of wine...
So I ordered a glass of house pouring...
Gosh!
Eventhough I not a wine drinker...
But I can smell the wine being opened for least 4 days already!

Least we ended our dinner with a glass of warm water.

Well...
I'll give 4 stars out of 5 to the restaurant...
Expensive, yet it's nicer than TGIF and CHillis...
Especially the steak, as my partner comment.

Here's the pictures I manage to snapped, the lighting not really that good...
It's romantic place...
Crowded, but it's still alrite for couples to spend time there.

A big jug of Ice Lemon Tea

Baked Escargot

Bisque Soup

Mushroom Soup

Poseidon Platter

Steak with Foir Gras

Cheese Platter
