Golden Triangle, Queensbay Mall

Mum's Birthday.....
Mother's Day......

A looking forward month every year...
This year my sister and me planned to have a surprise for my mum...
I googled around and found a nice cosy place called GOLDEN TRIANGLE, Indochinese cuisine...
They got one restaurant in Solaris, KL...
Lucky enough they got one in Queensbay Mall...

I made the reservation last month, and my sis supposed to get the others thing ready.
All the pictures I got it from my sister's camera, my phone's camera not giving a good cooperation today...
Very bright eventhough did not use flash or anything.

The dinner went well.

The ambience is nice, I asked for the table which near the window...
We ordered our meals.... which came quite fast as well...
We had Kerabu Sotong, Tomyom Seafood Soup, 3 Flavours Prawns, Broccoli with Oyster Sauce, Thai Pineapple Fried Rice and Fried Beehoon with Thai Chili Paste.

We got no complaint over the food...
It's good!
Of course it's bit pricey, but lucky enough that the food it's worth to pay!

Even the staff over there helped us to gave our mum a surprise over the cake, just that bit delay on the flower!
But everything went well! So happy.

Total Bill?
RM198, I gave RM10 as tips for the staff (I never give tips that much before eventhough I myself in Operation!)

Really really worth it and enjoyed.

Will try the one in Solaris, let's compare!

Penang Village, Tropicana City Mall

Lunch time!
Wondering what can we have in TCM since we been there for few days due to work...

Since wanted to try and research some outlets...
We chose Penang Village...

The ambience was not bad, but the chair is bit too straight up...
My colleague was telling me that she live in TTDI and even got a restaurant there she don't even want to go in and try...
Same goes to me... been passed by there few times...
Don't even bother to go in.

Here what we had....

Ice Cincau

Vegetables Fritters

Village Fried Rice

Prawn Mee

Not to bad...
But since I'm a Penangites...
I will stick back from its Origin,

I miss my home.

Mama's Kitchen, TTDI

I passed this restaurant for quite sometimes... (normally if the main road of TTDI jam, I will turn backlane...)
So did wonder what's good about the row of the shop lots around the area.

One night, was wondering what to grab for dinner before we go for out to meet up friends in Taman Desa...
I made a turn and wonder which restaurant to go....
The left or the right...
My dear said that, tried the one with most people in it...
So we head into "Mama's Kitchen, Famous Claypot Lou Shu Fun".

For a fan of Lou Shu Fun... I don't mind...
Seriously was kind of pack, it was about to 9pm...
We had our menu...
Wonder what to order...
Even need to asked the uncle to "choi" me as he was busy with other customers.

We ordered their famous claypot lou shu fun...
A siu yuk fried kailan, pork belly noodle and also bitter gourd soup...
After ordered, I was asking my dear, when will the order come as the uncle still holding our orders...
*Pop*
Not even 5 minutes, the pork belly noodle arrived....
*Pop*
The claypot lou shu fan, then the kailan then the soup....
Not even 15 minutes!

I was surprised, so FAST?
Eatable?
Oh well, was pretty hungry that time...
EAT! EAT!

It's marvelous.
Fast and nice.

Pork belly noodle

Claypot Lou Shu Fun

Siu Yuk Fried Kailan

Bitter Gourd Soup

The whole bill came up to, RM40? I can't recall as it's been quite sometime....
But, will go there again for other food.

One Love One Life

One Life, One Love lyrics

1st Verse (MC Epikz - Khmer):

I remember the first the day, me and you first laid,
Eyes on each other made me feel so special
Like I had a angel holding me and wouldn't let go
So as I let go my heart, the one you had from the start
The one I know you wont tare apart, or leave in the dark
Your like a spark, you seem to light up my days
Everytime you smile I know there's happiness heading my way
At night I lay in bed and I stare at the stars
See the similarity in your eyes, and wonder where you are
But then I know the place you'll always be is my heart
Which you'll never ever part, since you made your mark
If I could I'd give the world only to you
Because the feelings I have are so true, so boo
Coress my life with your heart, mind, and soul
Promise me that you'll never let go, once you get a hold
Cuz I wont I'm telling you this now
That I'm yours forever and I'll always be around
When your down, when you frown, bong solang da moi

Jam Sandwich Creams by Mark & Spencer

My colleague will always feed me funny things which I NEVER tasted before...
First, she asked me to eat the chesnut (which fried with coffee beans...or charcoal?)
I don't like the smell of it so I never intend to try at all...
Due to give face to her offer, I tried and got hooked!

Butterscoth bread!
It's RM4/pkt, by Guardinia...
Never had it before, thanks to her!

Now,cookies!
I not really a big fan, but do have it sometimes...
However, cookies from Mark & Spencer... way too expensive~
She offered and told me that she used to have it in UK, I asked how much she said RM9.90/pkt!
Woahhh... that's way too much for cookies!
I had the 1st piece.... 2nd... 3rd... and end up nearly the whole packet!
It's really delicious and nice!
Simply irresistable!

Today, she wanted to purchase the cookies since we were in 1Utama...
I told her that's the 1st time I stepped in Marks & Spencer...
As I know it's kind of "expensive" shop, so never intend to go in...
She said, not really...
Oh well.... it is to me!

Went over to the "Food" area...
Saw some other cookies...
The price for the Jam Sandwich Creams from RM9.90 drop to RM9!
Great, I purchased 1 packet for own "pleasure"...
But can't afford to have it always!

Yummy!!!

Jam Sandwich Creams

Great to try!

Home Cooked Meal for Friends

This would be the 2nd time in a week that I've cooked for friends...
I did it on Monday, and it went well...
Was pretty happy that nothing left, not even the soup...
It's nice to see that the meal that I cooked sincerely being well appreciated.

Since that Monday, 2 friends couldn't make it...
So I cooked again on Wednesday...
This time, much more interesting, there's a vegetarian around.

How do I want to cook a meal without using garlic, onion and oyster sauce?
I did really cracked my head to wonder, what dish should I cook then?
The day before the dinner, I've cut and prepare most of the ingredients so that I can start to cook immediately after work...
At the same time, I pre-cooked the Soup of That Night, ABC soup and also cabbage soup (ala-abc soup style)
Then the next day, I still need to grab some green vegetables to add in the menu!

So total of the dishes 9 with 2 soups....
For 6 people...
Well, since I don't really know how to cook "vegetarian" meals, glad that it's being appreciated as well.

Thai Style Tofu

Stir Fried Mushroom with Celery and Cashewnuts

Stir Fried Kailan

Black Sauce Pork Fillet

Steam Pork Ribs

Omelette with crab stick and onion

Omelette

Kitchen temporarily close, Chef kind a tired at the moment.
Will be "supplier" on Sunday, steamboat at friend's house....
So merry and warmie!

Little Taiwan, 1Utama New Wing

Another new outlet opened in 1Utama...
One of my colleagues was wondering this "Little Taiwan" is it HALAL?
At first I told that, should be non-halal with the concept and all....
So eventually we decided to have something else till we saw the HALAL logo at the entrance of this restaurant...
We head in to give it a try.

Basically was bit pack as it was lunch time...
I even got to get the menu myself at the side counter...
Took us sometime to decide what we wanted to order though.

Honestly, I can't remember much of the name of the items we ordered and I don't really enjoy the food there at all, so as my colleagues.

The food was fast to serve, however my colleague ordered the Beef Noodle Steamboat, came without the BEEF MEAT! Just the noodle and 2 meatballs...
And the taste of the soup, tasted of chili powder to the max!

I had the chicken chop noodle or something, the noodle eventually got the smell (not sure how to call that... the yellow noodle taste even though the noodle being served is ramen!)

Another colleague of mine ordered something like beef noodle, the only thing that which they both like, will be the beef meat as it was tender.

Drinks wise, I had lemon tea, one had black tea ice (I guess) and the halal gal had passion fruit juice (I guess again) and it's so sweet! However, it's not too bad though.

We shared a plate of salted chicken (which was not crispy at all and the chili sauce that given, tasted like strawberry with chili mixed) and also a plate of toast.

Passion Fruit

Hot Lemon Tea

Iced Black Tea

Beef Noodle

Chicken Chop Ramen

Toast Bread

Not really will go there again...
The service not really up to par and quite a dissapointment.

I do wonder, is this how Taiwanese food taste like?
